Consistently good food over the few years I have been going there

Went for a carvery. The food was delicious. And the staff were very welcoming. As a parent with two small children I also loved the "dinky" plate that they offer at a reduced price I thought it was a great idea

Superb Sunday carvery with all the trimmings and excellent service. We arrived at midday for Sunday lunch with 11 guests aged 2 to 73. The warm welcome, friendly service and comfortable environment made us feel at home immediately. The carvery was 14 per head for adults, 9 for children and 4 for a mini plate. The food was superbly cooked with three roast meats, vegetarian alternative and ALL the extras - roast parsnips, potatoes roast and mashed, crackling, stuffing balls, giant Yorkshire puddings, minted carrots, apple sauce, gravy, broccoli cheese, peas, horseradish sauce and mint sauce. All hot and plenty of it. A great selection of drinks at the bar and helpful staff willing to assist even though things were very busy. Would recommend booking a table as it was very popular. Definitely recommend, an excellent pub for Sunday lunch.
